The GRCT trustees have agreed to fund e’Pap at two new locations, one of which we mentioned briefly in our last newsletter. We are very grateful to the Rotary Club of St Francis Bay for overseeing these projects.
The first is at the Bright Future Creche situated in Nompumelelo Village township in Tsitsikamma, close to Storms River Village. The creche does not a reliable income as most parents struggle to pay the R100 monthly fee (around £5). 35 children attend the creche, aged between 1 and 4. Most arrive at the school not having had breakfast and with no “lunch box” for the day. The creche was struggling to afford to feed the children, and a meal of e’Pap therefore makes all the difference.
We have recently also agreed to fund e’Pap at the Rainbow Creche in a village called Coldstream, between St Francis Bay and Plettenberg Bay. There are 53 children between the ages of 2 and 5 who attend the creche.
Both feeding programmes will fall under the Rotary Club of Francis Bay who are responsible for ordering and monitoring the e’Pap, and reporting to the GRCT.
