The children at Sophokama Play School, Isiseko Pre-school and Mirotec Pre-school in Knysna all benefit from the e’Pap which the GRCT helps to fund.
Juliet Fellows, a longstanding supporter of the GRCT, visited these schools (among others) last year:
“After 7 years of raising money for the GRCT, I finally had an opportunity to go to South Africa for the first time in November 2019.
I saw many of the GRCT funded feeding projects in Hout Bay, Knysna, Missionvale and Port Elizabeth. It was both humbling and inspiring to meet all the people on the ground who were delivering the e’Pap and the teachers looking after the children in often very difficult circumstances. They all said how important the e’Pap has been for the children’s health and energy levels. I was most impacted by a crèche run by a wonderful lady in a very small room, with scant ventilation. She was looking after at least 30 children, aged 1-4yrs who arrived anytime from 7 am and were sometimes not picked up until 7 pm. She showed me the scars on one child’s arm from sores, now thankfully healed due to the nutrition provided through e’Pap.
I left wishing I could help more but pleased to be involved in such a good charity.”
